APPEO NEXUS is task, attendance and leave management for Indian businesses whose staff work from Android phones as much as from desks. THE PROBLEM
Why Indian Operations Teams Struggle to Fit Global Task Tools
Many task tools are designed around an office team sitting at laptops. A typical Indian SME looks different: a few people in the office, supervisors on site, technicians or sales staff travelling across a city, and an owner who checks everything from a phone. Work is handed out on calls and WhatsApp, attendance sits in a register by the door, and leave is requested by message.
When owners start looking for software, some of the tools they find are priced in US dollars, so the monthly bill moves with the exchange rate. Others cover tasks but leave attendance and leave to a separate HR app. The business ends up paying for two or three systems, and staff on everyday Android phones use none of them properly.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Cost of Running Staff, Tasks and Attendance in Separate Places
- The owner reconciles a task list, an attendance register and leave messages by hand at month-end
- Field staff mark attendance on paper, so nobody can confirm where or when the working day began
- Leave agreed on a phone call never reaches the person planning next week's work
- Clients ring a manager for status updates because they cannot see their own requests
- A subscription priced in dollars is harder to budget for when salaries and revenue are in rupees
- Blocked work travels by word of mouth and reaches the owner after the deadline
What helps is one system that matches how Indian teams actually work: phone-first for staff, browser or phone for admins, and billed in the same currency you pay salaries in.
HOW APPEO NEXUS HELPS
From Morning Punch-In to Verified Work: A Working Day for Indian Teams
The same sequence applies whether your staff are in the office, at a client site or travelling between branches.
- Punch inEmployees punch in from the Android app. The app records a photo, the address and the GPS location, and admins can export the attendance list later.
- Pick up assigned workAdmins assign bugs, tickets or requirements with a priority. The employee starts, pauses and resumes each task and adds remarks as the day changes.
- Escalate or logBlocked work is escalated with a reason, and admins receive a push notification. Before leaving, staff add a short daily log of what they did.
- Verify and punch outAn admin verifies completed work and approves or rejects pending leave, and the employee punches out from the same app.
FEATURE WALKTHROUGH
APPEO NEXUS Features That Matter Most to Indian SMEs
These features are in the current web app and in the Android app, which is listed on Google Play as APPEO NEXUS. Labels in the app currently read Bugs, Requirements, Tickets and Developer.
Android app for employees
- What it does
- Puts each employee's tasks, attendance, leave and daily logs on an Android phone.
- Problem it addresses
- Desktop-first tools leave out staff who never sit at a computer.
- How you use it
- Employees install APPEO NEXUS from Google Play and sign in with their staff account.
- Why it matters
- Site and field staff can work from the phone they already carry.
Photo and GPS attendance
- What it does
- Records punch-in and punch-out with a photo, an address and a GPS location, in an exportable list.
- Problem it addresses
- Paper registers that are incomplete, or signed by someone else on a colleague's behalf.
- How you use it
- Staff punch in from the app at the start of the day; admins review and export the records.
- Why it matters
- Attendance for staff spread across sites is backed by a recorded photo and location, not memory.
Leave types, approvals and holidays
- What it does
- Holds leave types and a holiday list, and lets admins approve or reject leave applications.
- Problem it addresses
- Leave granted informally and forgotten when the next day's work is planned.
- How you use it
- Employees apply in the app, and an admin approves or rejects the request.
- Why it matters
- Planning reflects who is actually available, in the same tool where work is assigned.
Client logins limited to their own projects
- What it does
- Gives each client a login that shows only their own projects, where they can report bugs, add requirements and export their items.
- Problem it addresses
- Status calls and messages from clients asking what happened to their request.
- How you use it
- Create a project linked to the client and give them access; they raise and follow items themselves.
- Why it matters
- Service firms, agencies and maintenance providers stop relaying every update by phone.
Escalation with push notifications
- What it does
- Lets an employee escalate a task with a written reason, which sends a push notification to admins.
- Problem it addresses
- Problems that reach the owner only when a customer complains.
- How you use it
- The employee taps escalate and types why; admins see it on their phones.
- Why it matters
- Issues come up while there is still time to fix them.
Departments and sub-departments
- What it does
- Organises projects and staff by department and sub-department, with project attachments visible by role.
- Problem it addresses
- One flat list of everything once the business has several functions or branches.
- How you use it
- Set up departments that mirror your organisation and attach documents to projects with role-based visibility.
- Why it matters
- Each team sees the work and files that are relevant to it.

ILLUSTRATIVE BUSINESS SCENARIO
Illustrative Example: A Kerala Service Business With Office and Field Staff
This is an illustrative example, not a customer story; no real company, person or result is described. Picture an air-conditioning service business with an office coordinator, a group of technicians who visit homes and shops, and corporate clients on annual maintenance contracts. Jobs were passed on by phone, technicians signed a register when they came in, and clients called the office to ask about progress.
With APPEO NEXUS, each corporate client gets a login to its own project and reports faults as tickets. The coordinator assigns tickets to technicians, who punch in from their Android phones with a photo and location, start and complete jobs, and escalate any job that is waiting for a spare part. Leave is applied for in the app, so the coordinator knows who is available before assigning the next day's work, and the owner verifies finished jobs from the web app.
This is an illustrative example, not a customer story. No real company, person or result is described.

FAQ
Questions From Indian Businesses Comparing Task Tools
Is APPEO NEXUS billed in Indian rupees?
Yes. Plans are priced per user per month in rupees: Starter is ₹500 billed annually or ₹550 billed monthly, and Growth is ₹900 billed annually or ₹999 billed monthly. Enterprise pricing is agreed individually.
Is there an APPEO NEXUS app for iPhone?
No. There is an Android app on Google Play and a web app, but no iOS app. If some of your staff use iPhones, check during the trial how they will work with the web app. Mobile punch-in is done through the Android app.
Can our customers check progress on their own requests?
Yes. A client login shows only that client's projects. Clients can report bugs, add requirements, reopen bugs, export their own items and view their meetings. On mobile, they can also chat with admins and the staff assigned to them.
Which plan suits an Indian business with around 20 employees?
Growth. Starter needs at least 25 licences and Growth needs at least 15. Growth also adds team chat, meetings and an approval workflow.
Why does the free trial not accept a Gmail or Rediff address?
The trial is for businesses, so you need to register with an email on your company's own domain, and each domain gets one trial. Public addresses such as Gmail, Yahoo, Rediff, Outlook and Zoho are rejected. You do not need a credit card.
