Google Ads Management for Small Businesses in Ireland

Many Irish small businesses run Google Ads themselves, or had someone set the account up years ago. Now they pay Google every month without knowing which clicks turned into calls, bookings or orders. Appeonix Creative Lab manages Google Ads accounts directly for Irish SMEs. That covers Search, Shopping and Performance Max, with euro budgets, county-level targeting and conversion tracking that waits for cookie consent.

Our team works remotely from India, which is 4.5 to 5.5 hours ahead of Irish time. We have no office in Ireland and no Google Partner badge, and we do not promise a return on ad spend. What we do offer is a tidy account, honest tracking and a short monthly report in plain English.

Ask for a review of your Irish ad account

Tell us what you sell, where in Ireland your customers are, and roughly what you spend on ads each month, if anything.

Google Ads work we run for Irish SMEs

Most accounts need only a few of these to begin with. Which ones depends on how your customers search and what you count as a result.

Account audit

A written review of the account you already have. It covers wasted search terms, campaigns that overlap, conversion actions that count the wrong thing, and recommendations that were applied without anyone approving them.

Search campaigns

Tightly grouped keywords for what you actually sell, with lists of excluded (negative) keywords and ads that match the page each click lands on.

Shopping for online stores

Product feeds from WordPress-based and Magento stores, connected to Google Merchant Center. Euro prices, delivery costs and returns details are checked against the website before any money is spent.

Performance Max, once tracking is sound

Added only after conversions are recorded reliably. Performance Max optimises towards whatever the account says a result is, so bad data sends the spend in the wrong direction.

Consent-aware conversion tracking

Forms, calls and purchases are set up as conversions in GA4 and Google Ads. Every tag waits until the visitor has made a cookie choice.

Landing-page fixes

Slow mobile pages, hidden phone numbers, long forms and missing prices, fixed on your site or written up for your developer.

Targeting Irish counties, towns and cross-border buyers

Ireland is small enough that a nationwide campaign looks tempting, but most local businesses serve only part of the country. A physiotherapy practice in Limerick gets little from clicks in Donegal, however cheap they are.

Counties, radius targets and the location option

Campaigns can target individual counties, cities or towns, or a radius around your premises. We match these to the area you really serve. We also check a setting many accounts overlook. By default Google shows ads to people who have shown interest in a place, as well as to people who are in it or regularly there. For most local firms we switch this to presence only.

Selling into Northern Ireland

Customers north of the border pay in sterling and may get different delivery terms. If you sell there, we usually give Northern Ireland its own campaign, so prices, ad wording and budgets stay accurate on each side.

Euro budgets and account currency

Google sets an account's currency when the account is created and does not allow it to change later. New accounts are opened in euro, in your company's name, and Google bills your own card. Daily budgets are an average. Google may spend more on a busy day and less on a quiet one, and we explain this before launch so the invoice is no surprise.

Ad tracking that respects the DPC's cookie guidance

Conversion tracking is where Irish advertisers most often get caught between Google's tools and Irish privacy rules.

The Data Protection Commission's guidance on cookies and other tracking technologies says consent is normally needed before non-essential cookies are set. This comes from Regulation 5(3) of the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011). Cookies used for advertising and conversion tracking are not exempt. The guidance also says rejecting must be as easy as accepting, and that implied consent, or a banner whose only button is 'accept', is not enough.

How we configure Consent Mode

We use the basic form of Google's Consent Mode. Google Ads and GA4 tags stay blocked until the visitor answers your consent banner, and nothing is sent for people who decline. Default consent states load before any tag fires. Before campaigns spend anything, we test accepting and rejecting on the live site.

What consent does to your reported results

Visitors who reject cookies are not tracked as conversions, so Google Ads will show fewer results than really happened. We point this out in every report and compare Google's figures with your own inbox or order system. We do not stretch the tracking to make the account look better. If your banner itself needs work, our separate cookie consent service handles that.

Taking on your Irish Google Ads account, step by step

Video call to agree goals

We talk about your services, the counties you cover, what a customer is worth to you and how many enquiries your team can handle. Calls are booked within Irish business hours.

Audit or new account

If you already have an account, you get a written audit. If not, we open one in euro and in your company's name, and you add us as a manager.

Consent and tracking before spend

We check the banner and Consent Mode, then test conversions with real form submissions or test orders.

Keywords, exclusions and ad copy

We match search terms to your services and areas, exclude irrelevant searches, and write ads in the wording Irish customers use.

Careful launch, then monthly reviews

We start with a modest budget and watch it closely in the first weeks. After that you get a monthly report and we agree changes together. Management time is estimated from our published rate card.

Illustrative Business Scenario: a Galway outdoor-gear retailer

This is an illustrative example, not a client result. A fictional outdoor-gear retailer in Galway sells online through a WordPress-based store and has one high-street shop. It runs a single Performance Max campaign across the whole island and cannot tell whether the spend pays for itself.

The audit finds four problems. Purchases are recorded twice, the feed still shows old sale prices, and ads reach people abroad who are merely interested in Ireland. Tags also fire before anyone has answered the cookie banner.

The fixes follow a set order. First the consent setup is corrected, then the duplicate purchase event is removed and the feed is cleaned. After that, the account is split into a Shopping campaign for the Republic and a Search campaign for shop visits from around Galway. Each month the report compares cost per order with the owner's own sales records, and the owner decides whether to raise, hold or cut the budget.

Commitments on every Irish ad account we manage

We do

  • Open or keep each account under your company, with your card paying Google directly
  • Tell you about bidding or budget changes before we make them
  • Judge results by enquiries and orders, not impressions
  • Check your offer against Google's advertising policies before we write any ads

We do not

  • Promise a number of leads, a level of sales or a return on ad spend
  • Present ourselves as a Google Partner
  • Add a margin to what Google charges you
  • Let ad tags fire before a visitor has made a cookie choice

Running Irish campaigns from India: hours and contact

India is 4.5 hours ahead of Ireland during Irish summer time and 5.5 hours ahead in winter. Our afternoon overlaps with your morning, so that is when we hold calls and make the changes you have approved. Work done in our morning is usually finished before your day begins.

You can raise urgent problems, such as a disapproved product feed or a campaign spending too fast, by email or WhatsApp at any time.

Who manages your Google Ads account

Appeonix Creative Lab is a micro enterprise (services) registered under Udyam in Thrissur, Kerala, India (UDYAM-KL-13-0116371). We have worked since 2014 and have a second office in Indiranagar, Bengaluru. We also hold an Ontario business name registration in Canada. We have no office, staff or registered entity in Ireland, and every campaign is built and run by our team in India. The account stays yours, and you can remove our access whenever you choose.

Google Ads questions from Irish SME owners

Will our Google Ads account be billed in euro?

If we create the account, yes. It is opened in euro, in your company's name, and Google charges your card directly. An existing account keeps the currency it was created with, because Google does not allow that to change. If yours was set up in the wrong currency, we can open a new euro account and copy the campaigns across, although the historical data stays behind.

What happens to our conversion data when visitors reject cookies?

With basic Consent Mode, nothing is sent for visitors who decline, so their conversions never reach Google Ads or GA4. Reported results will therefore be lower than real ones. We flag this in every report and compare Google's numbers with the enquiries and orders you actually receive.

Can you audit our account without taking over day-to-day management?

Yes. A one-off audit gives you a written list of fixes in order of priority, which you or your own staff can carry out. If you later want us to manage the account, the audit becomes the starting plan. The time involved is estimated from our rate card.

Can our ads reach customers in Northern Ireland too?

Yes. Northern Ireland can be targeted together with the Republic or on its own. Currency, prices and delivery terms often differ, so we usually give it a separate campaign and budget. That keeps the ads and reports accurate for each side.

Do you hold Google Partner status?

No. We do not hold a Google Partner badge or any Google certification. We manage accounts through Google's standard manager access, and we tell you at the start who will be working on yours.
